ALUMNI STORIES: ANNETTE GONZALES-CHRISTIE

ANNETTE GONZALES-CHRISTIE

A local talent, Annette Gonzales-Christie grew up in the city of La Habra playing softball at La Habra High School where she was voted 1st Team All-League and 1st Team All-North Orange County.

Playing for Fullerton College Hall of Famer Margo Davis, Annette was a 2-time All-Conference, All-Regional, and All-State pitcher for the Hornets. She ended her freshman year with an ERA of .45 with a 16-8 record. She ended her sophomore campaign with an ERA of .40 with 23 wins on the season (39 career wins). Annette also won “Women of Distinction” award which is Fullerton College’s highest honors.

Annette earned a scholarship to Long Beach State where she broke several pitching records, including the season win record (25-7) with a miniscule earned runs average of .64. Annette’s record stood for 20 years. She is still among the career top ten in all-time earned runs average with .71. After graduating from CSULB with a degree in Sociology, Annette went on to become the pitching coach for Long Beach City College under current Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso.

From 2007 to 2010, Annette was an assistant coach for the Rawlings Rebels where her team won 8 tournaments and finished 5th out of 85 teams in 14-A Western National tournament in 2009.
