ALUMNI STORIES: Robert H. Scott

Robert H. Scott

“It was my privilege to be in the Fullerton College graduating Class of 1948, following my graduation from Fullerton High School. I transferred with an Associate of Arts Degree to Pasadena College where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and Philosophy in 1950. My subsequent post-graduate work was from Point Loma Nazarene University, where I later served on the Board of Trustees for 27 years.

I look back at my Fullerton “Junior” College days as a time of valuable academic stretching and development. The social and intellectual exercises surely aided the career that took me around the world, working with government, religion and humanitarian leaders in 110 countries. In the late 1980s and early 1990s I personally visited 90 of those countries and met and worked with the Minister of Culture in the former Soviet Union, and with People’s Party Leaders in Vietnam, to name but two. Little could I have dreamed in my Fullerton College days, where my life-path would unfold, but I am grateful for those components that taught the excellence of knowledge and the significance of human interaction.
