STUDENT STORIES: ANTHONY FARAGO

ANTHONY FARAGO

I chose to study here in Fullerton College because my English teacher from my high school recommended that I go here. She told me that the professors and counselors are very helpful. Ever since I have been coming here, I have found that all her insights about this school are correct. At first when I started to come here, I was extremely intimated due to all the college work as well as the new study environment. To make matters worse, I did not know anyone around me since all of my friends were either in Mt. SAC or all over the country. It was a big change for me because I was one who did not appreciate change as much, but after going here for a while I realized that it was a good change.

I was lucky that my high school English teacher also told me about TAP. The TAP program helps students a lot when it comes to getting classes and taking classes that are required for one’s major and to transfer to a university. I remember what my counselor Heather told me and other new students at a group advising meeting, “as much as we appreciate you guys being here in Fullerton, my goal is to get you all out of here as soon as possible.” It started a motivation to get my transfer requirements done as soon as possible. After going through Heather and Sunshine’s counseling classes I felt more confident that I can finish my college education and pursue my goals in life. There is no doubt that there will be challenges in the way, but I know that it will all work out towards the end. I am expected to transfer in spring 2015. Hopefully I will accomplish this goal.
