After high school I was determined to change my life. Being from Corona, I sought to change my environment and so I came to Fullerton College in the fall of 2010. I chose Fullerton College because I originally wanted to delve into the arts. I’ve since changed my focus towards English, in hopes of becoming a teacher and am proud of doing so. I have been fortunate enough to work on campus since my first semester at FC. My first year at FC I worked in the Public Information Office. Working there allowed me to learn a lot of the behind the scenes work that goes into a college campus. I have been working in the Cadena Transfer Center since the fall of 2011 and have found it to be extremely rewarding. Here I’ve found a great friend and coworker who I’ve been able to share so much with while planning our transfers. I’ve also been able to help my fellow students better understand the transfer process. One of the greatest feelings is seeing a student come in with a smile, thanking us and sharing their story of having been accepted into the college of their choice. Although the road has been difficult at times, with supportive parents, friends, coworkers, and educators, I plan on joining those students when I transfer out after next semester.
